About us

Dr. Malone is the owner and operator of The Highland Vet. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University in 2010. Following graduation, she worked in Dallas, Texas, for three-years at an upscale, high-volume clinic seeing cats, dogs, and exotic animals. She also worked part-time at a local emergency clinic.

In 2013, Dr. Malone moved back to her hometown of Madison, Mississippi. Since then, she has been working on cats, dogs, and the occasional pocket pet. She has a special interest in internal medicine and geriatric care. In 2017, she realized that more and more cats and dogs were having to be euthanized due to arthritis and other geriatric issues. Realizing that western medications only resolved chronic issues for a short amount of time, she looked to other options for a long-term solution to help her patients have a better quality of life and possibly even a longer life. Her search led her to the world of Eastern and alternative medicine.

In Dr. Malone’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, Kyle, and two boys, Brock and Grayson. She also enjoys traveling, exercising, and reading.

Hi! My name is Chelsea. I am originally from Brandon which is where my family and I currently live. My husband Sanders and I have two beautiful little girls, two dogs, and a cat. I’m a certified veterinary technician who graduated from Hinds Community College. In my free time, I like to relax, hang out with my family and friends, and of course play with any and all animals!

I am Morgan Marks and I am a certified veterinary technician who graduated from Mississippi State University. I have 5 chihuahuas that are very spoiled – Cooper, Sadie, Sonny, Chance, & Sonny. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and playing my guitar. I am so excited about the opportunity to work at The Highland Vet and I cannot wait to meet all y’all’s precious babies!

Hey! I am Karsyn Pauline. I’m a senior at Northwest Rankin High School. I have 2 dogs named Duchess and Sunny. I also have a bunny named Bugsy and a hamster named Barley. I like to travel and have quiet time to myself. My ultimate goal is to become an architect!

Hello, my name is Samantha! I grew up here in Madison and graduated from Madison central high school. After high school I went to Mississippi state and studied animal and dairy science. I’ve always grown up with animals and currently have 2 dogs and 3 cats that live with my parents as well as my dog teddy, that lives with my fiancé in Oxford. In my free time I enjoy relaxing and going on walks with all of my fur babies. I am beyond excited for the amazing opportunity to meet and converse with each of you while also helping take care of your pets!

Hey, my name is Sunshine. I am in college to become a veterinary technician at Penn Foster. I’ve always had a love for animals. I grew up with horses but I also have four dogs, five cats, and three pigs. Some of my favorite hobbies are: photography; hunting; and riding four wheelers.
